Cooking for friends

I had an opportunity to cook for my friend Matt’s family. I did the appetizer and main dish, they provided salad and the place. For the appetizer, I did three appetizers: crab salad, shrimp satay and tomato/garlic olives/fresh mozerella with drizzle of olive oil and balsamic. I had a bit of Japanese pickled ginger, gari, as a palate refresher.

I created the chicken dish of my own recipe for the main dish, chicken roll with mango/pineapple reduction sauce with saffron infusion.

They seemed to like the recipe. It did cost a bit more than they were expecting. I did take out a few items that cost even more so it was better but it’s something I wouldn’t do more than once a month at most.
