Wedding Gig

As many of you know, I also have a side job doing DJ and Karaoke services. Yesterday afternoon, I had a wedding gig in San Francisco. My friend and partner Matt helped me out with the gig. It was at Swedish American Hall on Market. I never knew that place like that existed in that area. It was a fairly majestic hall, probably built during the 50s or 60s. The hall was large and had a stage, which helped us with the setup. I am alway nervous that someone will knock over speakers or lighting set up.

One thing difficult about the venue was that it was on the second floor but no elevators! I have equipment that weighs over 200 lbs and it was a hassle to have to haul it up the stairs with 3 people helping. Also, they set up a photo shoot booth upstairs with a bright light, which kill the mood on the dance floor.

Other than that, it was a great party with everyone dancing and singing from beginning to the end. It was non stop fun. The dance floor was full almost all the time and we had line of 5-6 singers during Karaoke all the time. I like this kind of gig, we had a great time.
