Meetup at the Garlic Festival

Today was a special Meetup. Instead of going to a restaurant, I decided to go to the Garlic Festival in Gilroy. There were only 3 of us there but we had a great time. I did not take any pictures but other people have and I am hoping they will post some. I have been going there every 2-3 years and I love it every time.

Garlic festival draws a lot of people in a hottest days of the summer. Here are a couple of tips. First, get there first thing in the morning. They open at 10AM but get there around quarter til. They will open a bit earlier. You can beat the heat by getting there early and leave early.  You can also beat the crowd.

If you can go, go on Friday. If you can’t, go on Sunday. Saturday is the busiest time so it’s good to avoid it.  Make sure you try the garlic ice cream, it’s one of the unique items you won’t find it anywhere else.

Mostly, have fun there. The food is definitely the best part of the event. Try everything you can. Share, enjoy the garlic!
